Christian Audio's Free Book of the Month - February 2015

Every month Christian Audio (http://christianaudio.com) gives away an audio book for free. Sometimes I am not too interested in the book, but the one this month is one that I was considering buying anyway. It is called Everyone's a Theologian by R. C. Sproul.

If you spend any amount of time commuting to work or if you just have a difficult time reading, then I would like to suggest that you download this book and give it a whirl. I mean... It is for "everyone" isn't it?

Hear the Word Audio Bible

The ESV Hear the Word Audio Bible is currently free at ChristianAudio.com.

I know that many of us have different apps and other options where we can listen to the Bible for free, but this is a nice opportunity to download the entire thing to have for keeps.

Here is a link to go directly to the Christian Audio page for the free download.

This will only be free until the end of January.

Some good Noise Trade music right now...

If you have never been to NoiseTrade.com, now would be a good time to visit them.

Noise Trade has free music.

Yeah sure, there is the option of leaving the artist a tip, but sometimes I don't really know the artist that well.  There have been a couple of times that I have left a tip for an artist that I knew and I believed in supporting their work (or ministry in some cases).  But sometimes I just download something that sounds interesting, but I have never heard of it before.

If you haven't been there before, you should swing by and pick up Andrew Peterson's The Lost Boy Sampler.  So far I have loved all of Andrew Peterson's work, and this one doesn't seem to be a disappointment.

I also downloaded two albums from The Vespers.  I have never heard of this group, but so far I have really enjoyed what I've heard so far.  In fact, I am listening to them right now. Here is a video of them live in New York.

Free Music from Page CXVI

Page CXVI Hymns is giving away their entire music catalog... 74 songs... for free!

According to their website:
To celebrate our 7-year anniversary of making music, we're giving away our entire catalog of music for the month of March, including our original music from The Autumn Film!
They are celebrating their own "Jubilee" for 7 years of making music.

I have listened to most of their music over the past couple of years.  What I have listened to, I have really enjoyed.  As far as I can tell, they work hard at creating God-honoring, Christ-exalting music.

If you would like to download this music, just head on over to their website:

If you download it, let me know in the comments.  I would like to hear what you think about their music.

Free Audio Book from Christian Audio

Every month Christian Audio has a free download for the month.  There have been several really good ones that I have downloaded over the past couple of years.  The free book for October 2012 is extremely timely though, so I would like to point all of you there.

The book?  How Should Christians Vote by Tony Evans.

I've always enjoyed Tony Evans on the radio.  I've never read anything that he has written, but he has always seemed quite sound in his teaching.  I haven't listened to this book yet, but I am willing to give it a try.

If you download this book, let me know what you think.  I am currently listening to another one, so I probaly won't get to this one for another week or so.

Free Books on Prayer

Musician Andrew Case is offering three books on prayer for free.  There is one for husbands, one for wives, and one for children.  You can download them in kindle format or pdf.  He also offers the books in print, but as cheap as possible.  There is a pay-what-you-can policy in place on his site.

He also offers his music for free.  I'm going to be downloading some in a bit, I've heard of him before, and heard good things.  Plus, I like free music.

I wanted to share these free resources with you.  I know that I have been motivated to spend more time, and more meaningful time in prayer.  I'm hoping to get continued good advice/thoughts on this topic.

Here is a link to the free books.

For Martin Luther King Day, John Piper made his new book Blood Lines available for free.  You can click here to go to the Desiring God blog post to download it.  He also includes his recent message dealing with the same topic to download for free.

Here is a short documentary for this book that you can watch for free as well:

New book on the way!

In Constant Prayer (The Ancient Practices)I was just accepted by a website that I found called Book Sneeze. They have a program where they will give free books to bloggers. I'm a blogger and I love books, so I signed up. I was just accepted into their program about an hour ago, so I requested my first book.

Their selection wasn't huge, unless I am just not navigating the site correctly, but I found one that I think I might enjoy. It is called In Constant Prayer and is by a guy named Robert Benson.  I haven't heard of this guy before, so I am a bit skeptical and I will be cautious as I read it.  I believe it comes from a series of books from Thomas Nelson publishers called The Ancient Practices.  Once I am done with the book, I will offer up my thoughts in the form of a book review.

If you have already read this book, let me know what you think... but don't let me know yet!  Wait until after I read it, then let me know.
