Thank You Google!

I have been waiting for this for a long time!

I am not sure why they didn't do this originally. It just seems like a given... an automatic... but it just hadn't happened yet.

Now I wish they would allow me to access all of my uploaded music from drive!

SOPA Black Out and a positive Supreme Court Ruling

I don't know how anyone could not know this, but Wikipedia is doing a "black-out" today in order to raise awareness over the SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) issue.  Here is what they say on their black-out page:

Imagine a World
Without Free Knowledge
For over a decade, we have spent millions of hours building the largest encyclopedia in human history. Right now, the U.S. Congress is considering legislation that could fatally damage the free and open Internet. For 24 hours, to raise awareness, we are blacking out Wikipedia. Learn more.
I would link to an article about the SOPA, but I can't get to Wikipedia!  Basically, the act is aimed at stopping the piracy of things like unreleased movies and such.  I guess the big companies are worried that this would give the government too much power.  With that, I agree. The government already has too much power.

Google is doing something similar.  They have blacked-out their Google Logo on their main search page.  Here is a picture of that as well:

On a positive note, the Supreme court ruled in favor of churches that they have the right to fire people based on the Church's beliefs.  Here is how the Huffington Post starts their article on the topic:
Employees of religious organizations whose job duties reflect "a role in conveying the Church's message and carrying out its mission" are barred by the First Amendment from suing over employment discrimination, said the Supreme Court in a unanimous opinion handed down Wednesday morning.
Lots of interesting news.

Osama Bin Laden is Dead.

In case you hadn't heard this yet, Bin Laden was killed during a raid into Pakistan.  Here is the White House press release:

I had mixed reactions to this announcement.  What did you think when you heard it?

Mom, I spilled the oil...

Visualizing the BP Oil Spill Disaster
From IfItWasMyHome.com, a website to help you visualize the size of the oil spill by comparing it to your hometown.  When I loaded the website, I wasn't shocked at the size, because I have been following the story in the news, but I still don't think that I can wrap my mind around the immensity of the oil in the ocean.  I guess this is what should be called a "man made disaster."

"For it..."

Don't move on yet, this is worth a moment.

I heard this on the radio this morning while on the way to school.  I only heard the audio this morning, so I had to look it up once I came home.  Sure enough, through the magic of the internet, I found a video on the News Real Blog.  It introduces the video with these words:
David Horowitz gave a talk at UC San Diego to counter the Muslim Students Association’s Israeli Apartheid Week. (Horowitz made a point to properly describe the event as “Hitler Youth” week.) He was literally giving his speech at the same time as notorious anti-Semite Norman Finkelstein.
During the Question and Answer period Horowitz had a chilling exchange with a member of the MSA in which he prodded her to reveal the depraved depths of her Jew-hatred. What’s shocking is not so much that she holds such views, but rather that she was willing to admit it:

Like I said, you have to watch this video.
