I've always felt like such a kid, and I've always felt like I was on the younger side of life. But then in one week it all faded.
On Monday, August 27th, I turned 40. That's a big number to an actual young person. I'm sure I could ask some real old people and they would tell me, "... Aw! You're just a young pup!" I think their perspective is just a bit skewed though.
The 40 by itself wouldn't have done it, but at the end of the same week I received a prescription for cholesterol medication. I've had high cholesterol for a while, and
So this double blow of oldness has hit me. I am just glad that I still have my hair and my wits.
I wish I could sympathise but 40 was so long ago for me I can't remember what it was like.
ReplyDeleteI knew there was an old guy out there to make me feel better!

I have been in the same boat (doing next to nothing to remedy...) and was put on medication. Good news is even "old guys" can exercise/eat right and reduce or eliminate the medicine. PTL last visit Dr cut my prescription in half! Praying for you old geezer ;-)
ReplyDeleteI've been walking on the treadmill in the mornings, but if my cholesterol goes down, I won't know if it was the medicine or the exercise or both.
DeleteI'm already on the lowest dose, so hopefully I can keep it that way.
And to think that I thought you were old when you first came to teach us at Faith and informed us that you were 27 years old. You will forever be 27 years old in my mind.
ReplyDelete27 years old... That was a good year!
DeleteThanks for the lol on the crossed out sent. Very funny. Julie
ReplyDeleteYeah... uh... I kept thinking that I was going to do something about that. It just never panned out.
